After a full weekend in Nacogdoches with the whole family, we've finally made some progress on the dress. Mom got all the fabric and is getting started. She says that the next time I come down there she will have something for me to try on. I'm sure it will be a big reality shock when I try on my wedding dress for the first time.
Another one of my aunts gave me a big surprize. She is going to let me wear her pearl necklace and earings for the wedding. I knew I wanted to wear pearls, but had no idea where I'd come up with some. Her offer just adds one more to the long list of wonderful things my family and friends have given.
The honeymoon is booked for Cancun, Mexico. The place Andrew and I really wanted to go finally came available. We're so excited. As soon as we found that out, I called Uncle Bob to get the plane tickets. By the next day we were all set to go. But then a set back came...Andrew is transfering to TECH! He found out the day that we got our tickets. He will not be going back to TCU.
It's been a hard time adjusting to the idea of staying in Ruston/Monroe. We both know that everything is going to work out wonderfully for us, but it is still rough because we had been planning for so long on being in Fort Worth. But now we will be closer to family, good church(s) and friends. We will also be saving a ton of money by staying in a small town. Andrew is in Fort Worth this week fulfilling an obligation he had already made before discovering he would not be returning to TCU. It is going to be very difficult for him to leave his friends out there. We both love our friend in Fort Worth. There is just something about the bigger city lifestyle that we both enjoy. But for the next two years we will stay put. It'll be nice.
With all the changing he is doing now, it means a lot of NOT changinc for me. I will get to keep my job (which is great) and I'll get to see my niece more.
All things tolled, we're going to be very happy. The coutdown is on: four months, two weeks, and one day! |
